Climate Collapse, The Reality

Confused, Overwhelmed, Scared or Angry? Threatened by the climate crisis?

Or think it’s a scam?

Here is why urgent action is needed to stop burning oil, coal and gas.

Our politicians and organisations are not doing enough to prevent a disaster. Only ordinary people in huge numbers will push them to change.

About 2 degrees (5 – 10 years)

Mosquitoes love the warmth’ – they will be everywhere in the UK passing on some of the deadliest diseases in the world – Dengue, Yellow Fever, Zika Virus, Malaria

Disease spread has started with the Lyme Disease tick.

Food shortages will occur through loss of land to grow crops.  Flooding,  heat and storms bring crop failures.  Expect emptying supermarket shelves, many commodities disappearing from sale and perhaps food rationing.

Already begun with shortages and price hikes.

Floods driven by more rainfall and sea level rise will bring health issues – mould, floating sewage, contamination of drinking water.  Begun and getting steadily worse.

Need Evidence? Go to our 2025 Disaster Diary (link to page) .  A record of extreme climate driven weather events as they unfold this year showing how our world is being hit now by 1.5 degrees.

Deadly heatwaves will destroy crops and lives.

Already happening.

2022 the last, 2025 the next?

How fast is it changing?

It took 120 years (1880—2000) to heat the Earth by +0.8 degrees

In just 25 years (2000 —2025) it rose another +0.7 to a total increase of 1.5 degrees

That’s almost a 5 times increase in the speed of change.

How long until 2.0 degrees? 5 / 10 years?

The pace of change is speeding up yet our politicians, organisations and media are not explaining this and not doing nearly enough to slow this change.

Our politicians do as they are told by their political party who are  financed by commercial interests.  Commercial interests want to protect their share value at all costs.

About 3 degrees (30 – 50 years?)

The Amazon will burn for days or weeks generating several weeks of darkened skies across the planet.

Over half the world’s population will experience mega heatwaves each year.

In the UK millions will lose their homes and  be forced to move by rising seas.

Half the land area of earth will experience near rainless conditions. Many tropical and sub-tropical countries will become largely uninhabitable by humans.

What harvests survive will produce between a half and a third of current output.

Supply lines and civilisation will surely crumble under such stresses.

We can and should help each other, our friends, our families and our communities to understand the reality and avoid the worst.

If we the people don’t act, they won’t. What Can We Do ?

This just 5 years old but already out of date on time scales.  There is no time to lose!
